Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how Sagar Prashant Badve (ABN 14 436 379 504), trading as “NAPLAN Expert” (“we”, “us”), handles personal information on the NAPLAN Expert learning platform, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Children’s Online Privacy Code. Only a parent or guardian may create an account; children access the Platform through their parent’s account and do not hold their own login.

1. Information we collect

Parent account details (name, email, and password or Google sign-in); a child’s name and year level as provided by the parent; learning activity such as practice and exam attempts, answers and scores; limited engagement signals during timed exams (for example, tab switching or inactivity), collected with parental consent; and technical/usage data such as IP address and device type. Payments are processed by Stripe - we do not collect or store full card details.

2. How we use it

To provide the Platform (accounts, practice, mock exams, marking, reports), process subscriptions, respond to support requests, and maintain security. We do not sell personal information and do not use children’s information for advertising.

3. Children’s information

We collect only what is reasonably necessary to deliver the learning service, and only a parent may provide consent for a child’s information. A parent can access, correct, export or delete their child’s information at any time, and can withdraw consent to engagement-signal collection by contacting us.

4. Disclosure

We disclose personal information only to the service providers who help us run the Platform - including hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, transactional email, and analytics providers - and only as needed for them to perform that function, or where required by law. Some of these providers may process information outside Australia; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. AI-assisted processing

Some features use third-party artificial-intelligence providers to process learning material. Writing responses may be processed to draft marking assistance, which a person then reviews and sends. The Study Buddy assistant processes the messages your family types and can read your child’s practice, progress and plan, so it can answer and propose next steps. Requests are made with data collection disabled at the provider, and known personal details such as names, schools, emails and phone numbers are replaced with neutral tokens before a request is sent, then restored for your family to read. Assistant conversations are kept for 90 days and then deleted. A parent can read their child’s assistant conversation. Authorised staff can also review a child’s assistant conversation and usage for support, safety and quality purposes. The assistant does not predict NAPLAN results, does not compare students, and does not answer live test questions.

6. Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and hashed passwords. We keep information only as long as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal obligations, and delete or de-identify it when an account or child is removed, subject to records we must retain by law.

7. Your rights and contact

You may access, correct, export or delete your or your child’s information, or make a complaint, by emailing support@naplanexpert.com. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. We may update this Policy from time to time; continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
